The 2025 Dog Days of Summer will kick off with the Bel Air Town Run on June 1st. There are a few changes that are happening this year to help make the Series and the premium more accessible to all club members.
Any member in good standing with the club may participate and earn a DDoS premium. To complete the Series you must earn 9 points. Eight of those points must come from a combination of participating in runs and volunteering with a minimum of two volunteer points. For example, you can participate in five runs and three volunteer opportunities to complete this requirement. The final point comes from completing a 5k plog by September 1st.
New for this year, we will be offering a virtual option. To complete a run virtually:
- Members must be more than 50 miles away on race day
- Must be ran on race day
- Must run the same distance as the scheduled DDOS run
- Must post a selfie on club page with HCRC merch if possible
- Email screenshot of run to hcrcraceseries@runharford.com
- Must attend a minimum of 4 regularly scheduled DDoS events in person
We are also very excited to offer a walking option this year! This will be led by Joy Mowbray, our former treasurer. The walking route will be posted the week of the event and will start and end in the same location but the route will vary slightly from the running route.
