2024 HCRC Dog Days of Summer

The Dog Days of Summer Series will begin on the June 2nd with the Bel Air Town Run and will end on August 25th.

The 2024 Dog Days of Summer Series may be free of charge for all members, but members must register by June 2nd to be eligible to earn the premium for runners who fulfill the requirements for this series.

Note: If you wish to participate but not receive a premium, you may do so without signing up.

Earning Dog Days of Summer Series Points

Club members must earn a total of 10 points.

7 Participation points

  • Participation includes running at the event, helping a run host, or cheering for fellow runners the entire event

2 Volunteer Points

  • 1 point for volunteering at the Bel Air Town Run
  • 1 point for hosting a DDOS run
  • 1 point for volunteering at any HCRC hosted trail cleanup – Dates TBD
  • 1 point for participating in a HCRC Adopt-a-Highway cleanup – Dates TBD

As the dates for volunteer opportunities are made available they will be posted to Facebook and via email so you can sign up.

1 Plog Point 

Plogging comes from combining, “plocka” in Swedish “to pick up” and jogging. Get fit and at the same time clean up; it burns more calories than conventional jogging and is much more rewarding. Caring about your environment and community begins with looking after the area around you! Learn more: https://www.goplogging.org/welcome

    • Run/Jog your favorite 5k route and pick up trash along that route.
    • Keep your GPS tracker on so we can see where you cleaned and submit a screenshot of your tracker along with the trash you picked up to snowflake_results@runharford.com
    • Share your plogging adventure on social media with hashtags #goplogging #ploggingHCRC
    • Complete any day before  August 30th
    • Note: Cannot be combined with a scheduled DDOS run.
