From the race organizer:

Hi All,
Bailey’s Heart & Sole 3rd annual 5k is now in motion.
For the past two years, VolunTeen and the members of the class of 2023 have been instrumental in organizing Bailey’s Annual Heart & Sole 5K Charity Run/Walk event to benefit Bailey’s Heart and Soul Foundation. As the class of 2023 embarks on their journey, whether college or the workforce, the Bailey’s Heart and Soul Foundation continues with its mission and will host another annual 5K run/walk on Sunday, September 10, 2023, in honor of Bailey.
This year’s Bailey’s 3rd Annual Heart & Sole 5K Charity Run/Walk will occur at Bailey’s alma mater, The John Carroll School, starting with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the participants for the day. The event will be a timed shotgun race, and after the run, participants can grab water and snacks while cheering on others. The day will end with a group picture and the announcement of the winners.
Bailey Bullock was only 16 when he passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest on May 12, 2021. Despite his young age, Bailey excelled academically at the John Carroll School while participating in football, basketball, and track. He was also passionate about building computers, volunteering, playing video games with friends, and spending time with family. Since Bailey’s passing, his mom (Patrice) founded the BHSF, whose mission is to teach bystander CPR and AED administration, ensure AED accessibility in communities, and fund scholarships for high school seniors.
As Bailey would have been a member of the class of 2023, the Bailey’s Heart and Soul Foundation awarded its first set of scholarships to four members of the class of 2023, with each participant receiving $5,000 in scholarships and donating Zoll brand AEDs to community organizations.
Bailey’s Heart and Soul wants to increase the number of scholarships awarded to high school seniors, educate more people on how to perform CPR and use an AED, and donate more AEDs to our communities.
Our goal will only be possible with supporters like you.
Please consider registering for this 5K.
Thank you for your generosity, and let’s raise funds to keep Bailey’s memory alive.
